New Punjabi Food Corner is one of the few good places in Electronic City where you can get tasty food at affordable prices. It’s located near big MNCs so whenever you feel bored with your regular lunch meals, step into this restaurant. As its name suggest it’s not a typical ‘Punjabi’ restaurant as you won’t get the Punjabi feel over there but serves a variety of delicious north and south dishes. One of the place that will never burn a hole in your pocket.
How it all started
Recently one of my colleague was planning for his farewell treat. We were looking for a restaurant that serves both veg and non-veg food and is near to our workplace. Since we didn’t wanted to waste time in traveling so the best suited option was New Punjabi Food Corner, Electronic City as it’s located at a walk able distance. I with my team members headed for a lunch treat over there.
What we had there
We decided to have soup first. I opted for a hot and sour soup but it didn’t met my expectations since its taste was merely ok. They have a variety of starters in their menu so we ordered some veg and non-veg starters. In veg we had Paneer Chilly and Baby corn Manchurian. I was surprised by the quantity of the food they served. Trust me you can’t have such quantity at such a nominal price.
Paneer Chilly was crispy, nicely saute. My friends had non-veg starter ‘Chicken maramuri’ and they got totally in love with the dish. Even now also they can go to this place to just have the five star starter ‘Chicken maramuri’.
About the Main course
Now came the turn for main course. I took shahi paneer, veg hyderabadi, veg fried rice and Indian breads (butter chapathi). Rice were mouth-watering, all veggies firmly cooked with rice. Shahi paneer gravy was amazing, butter chapathi was soft and hot. Veg hyderabadi was a perfect combo of spices of Hyderabad and hotness of Bangalore. After having main course we ordered some beverages like Lassi and Lime soda both of them were cool and tasty. Overall it’s a nice place that serves a delectable food with reasonable rates.
Ambiance and Location
The place is always jam packed. If you are planning to go for lunch, make up your mind that you have to wait for 10-15 mins to get a table over there. As it’s located near MNC’s it is always crowded, most of them having team lunch with their colleagues. Ambiance is nothing great. If you like to have food in a posh area then it’s not the place to dine in.
Hygiene wise also they are not great.
Staff and Service
Even after heavy crowd all the time the service is really very quick. Staff is cordial and thumbs up to their skills how they handle the rush.
