Searching for a nice place to have a pint of beer with your friends, Then Barleyz, Koramangala is the best place to hangout. Situated at the heart of Koramangala near Sony signal above KFC and Taco bell one of the most crowded place in Bengaluru.
How it all started
I was planning to go to Barleyz since a very long time but due to some issue I was not able to. This time I finally made plan with one of my colleague. Made a prior lunch reservation one day before.
The Lunch buffet prices were quite high as compared to the variety of food they served there.
What we had there
The buffet started with some appetizers which includes chat papdi and dahi walla golgappa. Our appetizers arrived soon and were beautifully plated. Papdi chat was average in taste, somewhat sweet for my taste while the dahi golgappa were heavily filled.
Comparing to main course they have much more variety of starters.
After these dahi stuff starters they served some real starters like golden fried corns, paneer tikka, veg momos, fried gobi, sweet pineapple and tawa pizza. Mean while they served two drinks, one was bora bora which was like orange juice and other was Lucky drive which was made of green apple. The presentation of the drinks was amazing and seems refreshing. Loved the drinks.
Starters were served with green chatney and red chilly sauce. Loved the red chilly sauce, it was neither too sweet nor too spicy. Perfect and balanced combination. Panner was soft, the gobi was fried but not much garnishing was done, it was tasteless. :( . Then came the Veg momos which were extremely well decorated and taste was also awesome. The golden fried corns served were not as crispy as I expected and the sweet pineapple was too sweet. Overall the starters were average.
Main Course
The salad and pasta were looking good and well decorated but were not fresh. Just like you cut the onions few days ago and preserve them in freezer for future use. No moisture content was there in salad it was completed dried up. Not much variety of main course was there for vegetarian. Only three sabzi yellow dal, paneer and malai kofta thats it. Nothing much to write.Ordered Butter chapati on which excessive butter was applied.
Poor Quality Main course
Desserts
The desserts were also not up to the mark though having little variety of item. All items were not as fresh as you expect from a expensive buffet restaurant. Gulab jamun was nice but the brownie served with ice cream was as hard as like a stone. Mix fruit Cake that I took had hard bread. Didn’t like the desserts.
Ambiance and Location
The only thing I liked about the place was ambiance and its location. As already told the restaurant is located at a prime location. The rooftop experience is good if you want to have a pit of beer with friends. I will never recommend anyone to go on a dinner or lunch buffet with friends. Clean and tidy place.
Staff and service
Service was quick all food items were served with in no time. Staff was courteous. But what is the meaning of providing such a good service if you are providing such a pathetic food.
